dale earnhardt jr. would totally watch this show

Tomorrow night HBO airs the first episode in a 4-part series that follows Jimmie Johnson and the No. 48 Lowe’s team as they prepare for the 2010 Daytona 500. I’m very excited for this show. I think it’s going to be awesome, especially if it’s anything like HBO’s other sports series “Hard Knocks,” which follows a different NFL team through training camp each season (I love that show so much I wish I could be an intern for it or something, I mean really, looooove it). I love, love a true reality series and from the looks of it “24/7 Jimmie Johnson: Race to Daytona” will deliver. Check out the clips below!

Watching these videos makes me wish it was race day tomorrow! Gah! Oh and HBO spelled Ron Malec’s name wrong in that second video. It’s not Malick.

Really wish I could watch 24/7 Jimmie Johnson race to Daytona on HBO, but in Canada we have a “Canadianized” version of HBO. I’ve checked and it’s not showing :( Anyone out there willing to DVR it for me???

Watched it online on the HBO site. I won’t be paying Comcast an extra $24 on top of the $89 they want for basic cable.

But the first episode was great. Great insight into Jimmie’s life. I loved getting to see his personality more. I always knew that he had a great personality but that he was choosing to be corporate and sure enough that’s why Jimmie acts the way he does at the track and in front of the press.

And “The Jimmie” shirt-less – sorry Carl, sorry Dale Jr but Jimmie – wow I gasped at the physique. Too bad he can’t and won’t just peel his shirt off at the track every once in while – he’d probably have a big a female following as Dale Jr if he did.

I hope HBO continues to put each episode up on their website for free. If not I’ll buy the dvd of the show when its available.
