Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No. 88 National Guard/AMP Energy Chevrolet, started third in the June 6th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Pocono Raceway (Courtesy Hendrick Motorsports). If you’ve been living under a rock, or maybe you don’t watch ESPN, you might not know that the 2010 FIFA World Cup has kicked off in South Africa. This soccer thing is a big freaking deal and the USA has a team. Of course we all want the US to do well, but interestingly enough so does Dale Earnhardt Jr. Dale is a soccer fan. I had no idea, but he really is and he’s working with adidas an their “Every Team Needs a Fan” campaign.

Check out this video featuring Dale Jr, the Tampa Bay Ray’s BJ Upton, and the New Orleans Saints’ (and my youngest nephew’s favorite football player) Reggie Bush:

So Dale Jr. fans (and really any NASCAR fan) you need to get your butt over to www.facebook.com/adidasSoccer and vote for Dale! I need to see Reggie Bush sporting Dale Jr. gear. That needs to happen, so get on it.

In other news…

Delana Harvick’s “I Wear the Firesuit in this Family” t-shirt has shot up the most purchased item list in the NASCAR.com Superstore. It’s currently ranked 3rd after only being in the store for just 2 days. It’s exceeded NASCAR.com’s expectations. Of course it has, Delana is one smart chica. I think we need to make this shirt #1. Let’s do it, ladies!

(Photo by Robert Laberge/Getty Images for NASCAR)— I have a Gillette 500 “The Great American Shave” contest update for you. My team, Team Densey (aka Team Denny & Kasey), won! Hehehehehe. This is awesome. Thank you to everyone who logged their shaves, joined our team and made Denny Hamlin and Kasey Kahne the victors.

And speaking of the Gillette Young Guns I’m sure you all saw the new commercials this past weekend. They’re hilarious and I think the one with Big Foot might be my absolute favorite. No, wait, I do enjoy Clint Bowyer’s headband and shorts in the Pep Talk commercial. Nooo, the one where they invade that chick’s wedding. Ok, the mullets, the mullet one is the best one. Gah! Whatever, they’re all amazing in their own special way. I’m posting them all here for your enjoyment ‘cause they’re that good.
