NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Stremme met his future wife, Ashley Deihl, at a dirt track in 2007. While his first impression of her left him saying to himself “Wow, she is sexy,” the couple didn’t start dating until 2009. They fell in love because of their shared values, interests and love of racing.

Their wedding ceremony, held on November 26th of 2011, took place in the front yard of their home in Mooresville, North Carolina. The reception followed at an empty warehouse also in Mooresville.

As you’ll see from the photos below it was a beautiful, beautiful event (all photography by Cunningham Photo Artists). Ashley’s dress was a custom-made Private Label by G gown from New York Bride. The reception space was transformed with champagne, ivory & pewter coloring into a intimate & cozy space featuring candles, crystals and water elements.

I ADORE Ashley’s blue satin shoes from RSVP, and get this, she added the Swarovski crystals to the heels all on her own. Of the process she said, “Lots of patience was needed!!” It was worth it because they’re awesome.

Their cake, a gorgeous tower of 7-tiers, was made with layers of varying flavors including pumpkin, pink lemonade, marble and lemon cake. The very bottom tier held three of David’s race cars — a Cup car, late model and dirt modified — made of Rice Krispies & fondant, that sat on a motorized platform with a door that came down so the cars could roll out. That feature was a special surprise from Ashley to David. Super sweet!

The couple’s first dance as husband and wife was to “God Gave Me You” by Dave Barnes.

Congratulations Ashley & David! Wishing them the best at Daytona this year!
