This weekend is the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. I’ll be there on Sunday and so will London 2012 Olympic gold medalists Tyler Clary and Erin Cafaro. Clary won the gold in the 200-meter backstroke and Cafaro was a part of the US Rowing Women’s 8-boat team. They’ll give the command to start engines with Sacramento mayor and former basketball star Kevin Johnson.

The 23-year-old Clary is interested in trading his Speedo for a firesuit. “My passions are swimming and cars. It’s in my blood — I love to swim fast and race cars fast,” Clary said. “I’ve realized that racing is something I really could be good at, and like I said, I want to take a serious shot at it after swimming.”

Marco Andretti is set to throw out the first pitch at tonight’s San Francisco Giants game against the visiting Atlanta Braves.

The 49ers are my team and so I’m REALLY looking forward to getting some great shots of the 49ers paint scheme on JR Hildebrand’s No. 4 National Guard IndyCar and his firesuit. It’s such a great idea, especially since JR is from the Bay Area.
