Ryan Newman won’t be in the No. 39 for much longer, which makes this contest even better. Thanks to Wheat Thins I’m giving away 5 (five) #39 hats that have been autographed by Ryan himself.
This video, you guys. I am OBSESSED with this video. How awesome is Carl Edwards in this music video for Sara Evans’ song “Slow Me Down”??? I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! Hubba hubba.
I haven’t written about a race in a few weeks, which is bad. The only reason I can give for not is that I just haven’t really felt inspired to write anything. I always want to but then by the time I think of something it’s late and irrelevant. So the fact that I’m posting this on a Tuesday, AT ALL, is a huge win.
Do I really need to say anything else?? I mean, c’mon. The video above is a behind-the-scenes interview and look at the photoshoot Kasey Kahne did for ESPN The Magazine a little while ago.
Yep, Brian Vickers married his longtime girlfriend, Sarah, in Wyoming this week.
Congratulations to Sarah & Brian!
And everybody has one. Especially about this whole Michael Waltrip Racing cheater McCheaterson thing.
The last laps of last night’s race at Richmond were chock full of WTF moments I’m not quite sure where to begin.
Jimmie and Chandra Johnson welcomed their second daughter, whose name has yet to be selected, early this morning.
This was my exact reaction to hearing the news about Kurt Busch joining Stewart-Haas Racing next year:
Some random things to share
Yea, I don’t know. I’m just going with it.
Congratulations to Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil team on their win at Michigan this weekend.
When Oral-B® gave me the opportunity to ask Ryan Newman a question I instantly thought about dating. Not in the way that you think.
I don’t know why but lately I’m finding it hard to find things to talk about when it comes to NASCAR. Kyle Busch won at Watkins Glen, so there’s that. Tony Stewart’s out of the hospital, glad to heard it. And now Austin Dillon is filling in for Tony at Michigan, good for him.
Justin and Ashley Allgaier welcomed their daughter Harper Grace into the world yesterday at 7:18 am. Congratulations Ashley & Justin!
Here’s a random list of things I’ve been thinking about NASCAR this week:
My interview with David Ragan was a bit of a guerrilla deal. I didn’t schedule it ahead of time. At Sonoma this year, after I confronted Kasey Kahne about his Hottest Driver Tournament wins, we went in search of a another driver that I could interview.
Congratulations Ryan Newman on winning the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway! You’re awesome, you deserved it and I sincerely hope this brings you sponsorship and a new Cup team/home next year.
I interviewed David Stremme at Sonoma Raceway last month and he was great. Drivers are never expecting these questions so it’s always fun to see their reactions. Stremme was no different, he was really funny and gave some great answers.
You know me, I hone in on the IMPORTANT news. While Brian Vickers was in victory lane celebrating his win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway today he dropped the news that he’d gotten engaged to his girlfriend, Sarah Kensington.
Sunday morning I woke up ridiculously early so that I could get to the track in time to get a ride in the pace car with Brett Bodine. This was my second time getting to ride around the Sonoma Raceway track but it had been long enough since the first time I’d done it to not remember what it felt like. Let me tell you this, Brett Bodine doesn’t lay off the gas pedal just because you’re not a race car driver. That guy went flat out and it was insane.
