I haven’t posted anything in a really long time and I apologize. My day job has taken over my life to the point where I’m working weekends and not getting home until late during the week.

1031 Postskicking and screaming at richmond
I didn’t see the kicking and screaming at Richmond after the Nationwide Series race because I was at work, or on my way home from work but I heard all about it. I think this year is all about drivers “not taking it anymore,” like, everyone suddenly remembered NASCAR saying “Boys have at it” but it didn’t sink in until this year.
wait, so what happened at kansas?
Because I honestly don’t remember a whole lot. Anyway, the image gallery is going to be the best part of this post, so enjoy!
on dating: i’m exhausted! where is he?!
On December 30th of last year my boyfriend of one year told me that we had to break up (our one-year anniversary was the day before). He didn’t see a future for us, not one in which we stayed together, got married one day and had babies. He didn’t see any of the things that I did.
jimmie johnson’s having another baby
Jimmie Johnson announced this morning via Twitter that he and his wife, Chandra, are expecting their second child later this year. Congratulations, Johnson family!
martinsville in two words: jimmie. johnson.
I don’t know why I always feel this way when Jimmie Johnson wins a race. It’s like watching Survivor and getting pissed off when the idiots have the upper hand and they don’t take the opportunity to vote off the obviously stronger player when they have the chance. It’s silly. That’s how I feel when I see Jimmie Johnson leading a race.
giving it away: ‘at any price’ movie poster, ’cause it’s about racing, sort of
“At Any Price” is a new film starring Zac Efron, Dennis Quaid and Heather Graham. I’m telling you about it because Zac Efron’s character is a young man who dreams of racing in the big leagues of NASCAR one day, but that’s not what the movie really, really about.
kyle busch won at fontana but wouldn’t you rather stare into kasey kahne’s dreamy eyes?
I haven’t missed a Fontana race in 5 years, so it really sucked when I realized I wouldn’t be able to go this year. All the action & drama that happened on Sunday made it that much worse, but then again there’s no guarantee that it would have happened had I gone so I’m using that to make me feel better about the whole thing.
kasey kahne is cuter than usual
I was watching Kasey Kahne in victory lane at Bristol on Sunday. I listened to him talk and I couldn’t help but feel like something was different about him. He seems more manly. I’m not saying that he wasn’t manly before but he seemed more… something.
a ‘shark’ dives into nascar with rookie driver alex bowman
Do you watch ABC’s show “Shark Tank”? Ya know, the show where entrepreneurs try to get the “Sharks” to invest in their companies & ideas. (I LOVE this show! I wish I had something I could present to them in hopes of making a deal. And even if you don’t the exposure alone is worth it.) Well one of those potential investors has set his sights on a NASCAR driver.
"The biggest thing is I think that we won in the judge of the people and their opinion I think some of the peers of mine – at least the ones that have a backbone had the nerve to stick up for what they know is right and wrong – agreed. "
matt kenseth wins at las ve… zzzzzz
Matt Kenseth is a great race car driver and it’s cool that he won, and as my mom said when I told her that, “well it’s nice that someone different won,” I couldn’t disagree with her. It’s true, but why I am not super excited when Matt Kenseth wins? I have no idea. It’s not personal.
what i’m watching: ‘fast n’ loud’ is the only car show for me
I feel compelled to share with you the television programming I have been enjoying lately:
– Fast N’ Loud (Discovery): Everyone assumes that because I like NASCAR that I must be a “car person” and I’m not, at least not in the traditional sense.
subways wins with carl edwards because subway
Carl Edwards, who is sponsored by Subway, won the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway yesterday which is wraps up his 70-race losing streak nicely.
jimmie johnson won the daytona 500 and i don’t know what to tell you
Jimmie Johnson won the Daytona 500 and in the distance I could hear the sound of the saddest trombone sighing “waaah, waaah, waaaaaaah.”
paul menard got married
And he didn’t tell anyone.
UPDATE: Paul Menard married his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Roster, on November 30, 2012. More details here.
staying true to the dream: why i’m not quitting the fast and the fabulous
I might be writing this more for me than for you, but either way I still need to get it down on electronic paper.
If I had written this post a week ago it would have said that I was going to stop blogging altogether. But I’ve had time to think about it and I’ve decided to not quit.
shocking news: nascar drivers don’t care about danica patrick’s relationship with ricky stenhouse jr.
Through some completely unscientific research I’ve done while reading interviews with NASCAR drivers during yesterday’s Media Day in Daytona, I’ve determined that nobody gives a flying fig about Danica Patrick dating Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and people should probably stop asking them about it.
little hazel mcmurray has arrived
Jamie McMurray and his wife, Christy, welcomed their second child into the world on Monday. Their daughter Hazel joins her older brother, Carter, who turns 3-years-old this year.
kasey kahne wins the 2013 hottest nascar driver tournament
For the second year in a row Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, has won the title of the Hottest NASCAR Driver. Over 17,000 votes were cast in the final round, with Kasey clinching the title with 70% of the vote, leaving runner-up Clint Bowyer with 30%.
2013 hottest nascar driver tournament: the finals
Over 8,700 votes were cast in Round 4 of the Hottest NASCAR Driver Tournament, and yet again votes were cast up to the very last minute! Let’s find out which two drivers made it to the finals.
dario franchitti and ashley judd are getting a divorce
Upon hearing the news of Dario Franchitti & Ashley Judd’s statement that they’re getting a divorce, this was my reaction:
2013 hottest nascar driver tournament: round four
Over 5,600 votes were cast in Round 3 of the Hottest NASCAR Driver Tournament, up to the very last minute! Find out who’s only one round away from the finals.
nascar sprint media tour aka what is happening on top of kasey kahne’s head?
This past week was the Sprint Media Tour in Charlotte, which meant that the NASCAR media corps got to ask the same questions they always ask, hope someone gives an interesting answer (Tony Stewart stepped up), eat free food and get free stuff. So of course I’m annoyed I couldn’t go — because of the free food & swag, obviously — but what can you do.
2013 hottest nascar driver tournament: round three
Over 4,500 votes were cast in Round 2 of the Hottest NASCAR Driver Tournament, up to the very last minute! The results are in and they’re VERY interesting.
little taylor hamlin has arrived
The daughter of Denny Hamlin and Jordan Fish has finally arrived! Taylor James Hamlin made her debut yesterday at 8:20pm EST weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz. Denny tweeted the announcement early this morning.
2013 hottest nascar driver tournament: round two
The first round of the 2013 Hottest NASCAR Driver Tournament has ended and now we have the results! This is shaping up to be a very interesting tourney, I have a feeling that each round is going to be hotly contested.
preseason thunder: not interested in dale jr.’s chips
NASCAR drivers reported to Daytona International Speedway yesterday for two days of Sprint Cup Series Preseason Thunder testing. This was supposed to be an extra-special testing session because they were driving the new sixth-generation car.
2013 hottest nascar driver tournament: round one
It’s that time again! Who do YOU think is the supercutest NASCAR driver? We’re ready to find out who will be crowned the hottest driver of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for 2013! This year’s field is compiled of the drivers that completed 34 or more races in the 2012 season. The brackets were seeded randomly and we have five rounds (each round lasts a week) of action to determine the ultimate winner.
little ryden hunter-reay has arrived
IndyCar’s 2012 Champion Ryan Hunter-Reay welcomed his first child with his wife, Beccy, on Friday, December 28th. The couple’s son, Ryden, weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces and 19.5 inches.
interview: talking baby & marriage with denny hamlin’s girlfriend, jordan fish
I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Denny Hamlin’s girlfriend, Jordan Fish. Jordan met Denny when she was a dancer for the Charlotte Bobcats five years ago and since then their relationship has grown to the point where they’re now ready to welcome their first child — a girl — into the world later this month. Jordan is super sweet, honest and open. I had a blast talking with her about her life with Denny and learning more about who she is as a person.
landon cassill got married
NASCAR driver Landon Cassill married his girlfriend, Katie Linsted, last Friday, December 28th, 2012 in Charleston, South Carolina.

IndyCar recently asked their drivers how they will spend Christmas this year in addition to naming the best Christmas gifts they’ve ever received.
david ragan got married
David Ragan married his longtime girlfriend, Jacquelyn Butler, on Saturday, December 15th in Charlotte, NC.
interview: a conversation with ryan newman
On the day of the last race of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season I had the opportunity to interview Ryan Newman (as you can see in the photo above). This was all thanks to his sponsor Quicken Loans who brought me down to Miami last month. It was a quick but really interesting conversation.
"No, I don’t keep trophies at my house. I don’t believe in building a shrine to myself. It’s kind of weird."
kyle busch dances gangnam style
Wow. Just. Wow.
You must watch this video of Kyle Busch dancing at the Kyle Busch Motorsports Christmas party. You won’t regret it.
givin’ it away: no. 39 quicken loans mini-diecast cars
Thanks to the awesome people at Quicken Loans I’m giving away twenty, that’s 2-0, No. 39 Quicken Loans mini-diecasts! If you love Ryan Newman you’re gonna want to win one of these.
champion’s week: photo gallery two of two
The 2012 NASCAR Champion’s Week is over and here are the photos I was able to use for the site. Enjoy!
champion’s week: photo gallery one of two
Since I’m not in Las Vegas (*sniffle*) for NASCAR’s Champion’s Week festivities all I can do is post photos. Above is what I’ve got so far from Tuesday and Wednesday. I’ll post everything else on Saturday.
homestead: penske persistence pays off (say that ten times fast) and other stuff
I was going to write a whole paragraph about how traveling sucked but I figured what’s the point. You guys have been there, you know what I was dealing with on my flights from San Francisco to Charlotte and then on to Miami. Although I have to say I have NEVER been on a flight so full of babies & toddlers as I did that Saturday. It was crazy and it made me vow that if I ever have kids I’m not flying anywhere with them until they’re adults.
danica patrick’s getting a divorce
Wowzers! Danica Patrick is divorcing her husband of seven years, Paul Hospenthal. She announced the split on her Facebook page this afternoon.
i’m going to homestead-miami speedway this weekend!
Awesomely fabulous news! Thanks to the awesome folks at Quicken Loans I’m attending the final race in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule! This weekend’s race will be my first visit to Homestead-Miami Speedway and to Florida in general. I’m REALLY looking forward to it, especially since I didn’t think I was going to be able to attend any more NASCAR events this year.
a NASCAR wife interview with samantha busch
The thing I love the most about interviewing wives & girlfriends of NASCAR drivers is that you get to see them through a different perspective. That different view, of seeing them as regular people, is my number one goal for this site (well, that and getting to do this full-time) and it’s the reason I was really excited to interview Kyle Busch‘s wife, Samantha. I sent Samantha a bunch of questions that she’s answered — awesomely — below. I really think you’ll dig this interview and maybe look at Kyle differently as a result.
fight, fight, fight! jeff gordon won’t back down, neither will clint bowyer’s crew
I don’t know if you heard but there was a little incident at Phoenix International Raceway yesterday. It was so small that it caused #NASCAR to be a trend nationally on Twitter and for The Today Show to mention it this morning. Just a bunch of dudes getting in to a fist fight in the garage that’s all.
steve letarte didn’t go to prom, went to ‘hendrick high school’
Diet Mountain Dew created a series of videos available to view on YouTube called “Getting to Know the Dew Crew.” The series includes interviews with various members of the No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew team, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his crew chief Steve Letarte (above). I didn’t watch all of them but I find it REALLY interesting that none of them have received over 1,000 views yet. It could have something to do with the fact that the content isn’t that thrilling and no one told you about ‘em, but I guess I am now.
why i’m not going to champion’s week this year, unless…
It seriously pains me to say this, er type this, but I’m not attending this year’s NASCAR Champion’s Week and Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas. I simply can’t afford it. I could go but then I’d have to not pay rent, or at least not pay all of it and I’ve heard that my landlord frowns on that kind of thing. So I’m stuck not going to one of my favorite events of the year.
for f— sake! jimmie johnson can’t be allowed to win a 6th championship!
So we’re really doing this? I can’t express to you how incredibly boring and soul crushing it is when Jimmie Johnson wins AND continues to lead the points in the Chase.
"Well, Jimmie (Johnson) wasn't in New York when (Hurricane) Sandy hit — he was in North Carolina it looks like so he made it. So, scratch that from the list of ideas possibly that I could win this championship. I think hit man is probably out of the order. He rides his bicycle a lot — I was hoping maybe he would blow his knee out or something. Nothing career-ending or anything. Maybe painful — something painful to keep him out of the car. You have to beat him. That's what makes this sport what it is. It's incredible the job they do each and every year and it's a challenge for everybody to try and outrun him. They are so solid. We saw in Kansas — about the time you think, 'Oh boy, they've done stubbed their toe now,' they had a hell of a Band-Aid and got it fixed right back up. I think he finished right behind me and its like, 'How did they possibly do that?' That's what it takes to win a championship and if we do that, it's going to be pretty cool."
Word to the wise-When attending to demands after watching a movie on Cinemax, Remember to either close shades or turn off The tv.#NSFW
— Brad Keselowski (@keselowski) November 2, 2012
martinsville: that’s enough, jimmie johnson. that’s enough.
All I can say about Jimmie Johnson winning yesterday at Martinsville is this: No. Just, nooooo.
We’ve seen this movie before and I don’t want to see it again. We’ve seen the 4 sequels, too. I’m over it and I want to see something new.
the 2012 ‘fabulous’ reader survey
It’s that time again. The time when you guys get to fill out a quick, handy-dandy survey that helps me figure out the best way to move this site forward. I REALLY appreciate your time & input. The fact that you read this site AND enjoy it means so much to me.
kansas: can we stick a fork in espn’s “stick a fork in ‘em” feature?
Nothing important changed after the race at Kansas yesterday. Brad Keselowski still leads the points standings by 7 points over Jimmie Johnson. Denny Hamlin is still third. Sooo yep, that’s about it.
nascar brides: a rare photo round-up of weddings past
In my travels on the internet I have come across photos of the weddings of some of NASCAR’s top drivers. I thought it would be a good idea to get them all together in one place since they’re all strewn about.
interview: discussing ‘in the red’ with dale earnhardt jr.’s former publicist, jade gurss
I’ve been pretty clear about the fact that Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the reason that I became a NASCAR fan and subsequently a NASCAR blogger. I’ve chronicled what it meant to me to get to stand in on one of his press conferences and how the MTV documentary “True Life: I’m a a race car driver” is what piqued my interest in racing.
clint bowyer wins but never gets to do a burnout
Good job, Clint Boywer, good job.
There are five races left in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Series Championship and I’m wondering exactly how much can change in that time.
dale jr. fans have a reason to be proud, not sad
Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced today that he’s sitting out the next two races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule (Charlotte and Kansas) due to concussions, one sustained at Kansas during a testing session last month and the other at Talladega last Sunday. It’s sad news because he’s missing out on racing — especially since he’s in The Chase and had been having a great season so far in terms of consistency — but it’s great news in that he’s listening to his body and taking care of the MOST important thing: his health.
talladega: maybe i’m not bloodthirsty anymore
I think Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s comments after yesterday’s race at Talladega were right-on:
jimmie johnson’s jackman is up for cosmo’s bachelor of the year award
We all know that Ron Malec, car chief of the No. 48 Lowes Chevy, is indeed the hottest car chief in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage. But did you know that the jackman for the 48 is pretty hot, too? In fact, TJ Ford been nominated for the 2012 Cosmo Bachelor of the Year Contest. Check out his profile (and photo!) and then vote for him (here) before the contest ends on Thursday, October 18th at 6AM EST.
theater of the living: mass transit’s mass annoyances
I’ve been meaning to write about the books and music I’ve been in love with lately but there’s a bigger topic I must get to first. Let’s talk about how annoying public transportation is. Don’t get me wrong, public transportation is a wonderful & necessary thing. It gets cars off the road, makes you walk more which is good for your health and it’s convenient in that you don’t have to worry about parking or traffic (at least not directly).
keselowski becomes BFFs with miles the monster
I had this weird feeling while watching Brad Keselowski win yesterday’s race at Dover. It felt like the dudes in the booth calling the race weren’t all that excited by Brad’s win. I’m not saying they were rooting against him I just got this general feeling that there wasn’t a sense of “Oooh, this is interesting!” When it IS in fact interesting.
CBS show casting social media savvy sports fans for “THE JOB”
There’s a new reality show that’s specifically looking for sports fans like you. If you love sports AND social media you should apply ASAP to be on this show. I think it could be really fun and the people behind it created other popular shows like “Survivor,” “The Voice” and “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.”
"I had the wrong approach I think in the beginning of the season. I was following my Zen master Charlie Sheen and that wasn’t going very well (laughs). I had to look around and then I followed a fellow most top 10 hated athlete guy LeBron James. He brought his talents down to Miami and won the championship down there. I’m going to use that motivation, I’m going to take my talents to Denver and bring the championship out there. Then I decided that I didn’t need Charlie Sheen so I’m going to look at a new Zen master, I found him, it’s Bryce Harper. 19-year-old phenom out of Las Vegas, he is the Nationals guy that has helped their team get into the playoffs. He is so wise he told the media ‘no more clown questions. I’m not going to answer any clown questions.’ I’m really looking up to a 19-year-old Bryce Harper to help me through all this."
go ‘on the road’ with jimmie & chandra johnson
Jimmie Johnson and his wife, Chandra, have published a book about their life away from the track called “On the Road.” The book is available for purchase through Jimmie’s official website.
And starting October 13th through October 20th images from the book, taken by professional photographer Missy McLamb, will be on display at the Hart Witzen Gallery in Charlotte, NC. More information on the showing can be found at ontheroadstudio.com.
who is the better salesman: ricky stenhouse jr. or trevor bayne?
Roush Fenway Racers, Trevor Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., decided to ditch the track for a day and go head to head at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Charlotte to see who could be the better undercover salesman. What were they trying to sell? Vavoline NextGen, 50 percent recycled motor oil. Who won? Cast your vote and enter to win a trip to next year’s Daytona 500 sponsored by Valvoline.
denny hamlin wins; sylvania wants to send you to las vegas
I watched the start of the SYLVANIA 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway at my boyfriend’s apartment. He doesn’t have cable (I know, insane!) but I do. Because I had my handy dandy iPhone, the Watch ESPN app I’d downloaded the day before and Apple TV, I was able to watch NASCAR Countdown and the first handful of laps on my boyfriend’s television. Technology is WONDERFUL and I highly recommend it.
tony stewart’s game of grab ass
I heard about Tony Stewart grabbing DeLana Harvick’s butt during pre-race Chicagoland Speedway via Twitter. I didn’t see video of it until today (which is posted here in case you hadn’t seen it yet either).
keselowski gets ‘the chase’ off to the right start
I’m over Jeff Gordon’s mustache. And apparently the mustache is over itself too because it did NOTHING to help out Ella & Leo’s dad this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. Just goes to show that you shouldn’t hang your hopes on facial hair.
givin’ it away: tickets to the 2012 sylvania 300
I have a ‘Fabulous’ new giveaway to tell you about! One lucky ducky reader will receive a pair of tickets (one ticket for you, one ticket for a friend) to the SYLVANIA 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The tickets are courtesy of SYLVANIA who is celebrating their 10th year of hosting the race. The race is next week on Sunday, September 23rd, 2012 and if you’re close enough to get your butt over to the track you should enter this contest.
boredom is the worst cologne
When I was in kindergarten my mom would drive me to school every morning and I would cry as we got closer and closer to the school. I really didn’t want to go to class and it’s something I vividly remember. That anxiety.
dale jr. answers the marriage question (again)
Which had to be awkward for his girlfriend sitting in the same room with him when the question was asked. Eek. Click the link above to read the article.
the chase class photo is here. i’ll take one in wallet-size, please.
I watched some of the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway from a bar known to be frequented by cops and firefighters in Oakland. I was there for something had nothing to do with racing OR cops/firefighters, it was a gathering of my boyfriend’s friends. Anyway, I couldn’t hear anything but I saw the red flag come out and some of the racing. The night was about Jeff Gordon fighting his way into the top-12 and ultimately in to The Chase, which meant that Kyle Busch had sit this Chase out.
"I'm not going to say he's lying. I'm just going to say maybe he's stretching the truth a little bit. I think there's maybe a little bit more to it than that. Again, these are all opinions, right? We all have one and they all stink."
getting older, moving and visualizing a life with nascar
Last Friday was my birthday. I turned 32 and I’m OK with it, I guess. Not like I have a choice about in the matter. I’m embracing it. There are a lot of numbers left until I get to 40 so I’m looking at that as a positive.
"I think if you look at what their organization has accomplished, I think they’ve won three championships over there and just won a ton of races and are really competitive. Denny wins all of the time. Kyle wins all the time. I was just really interested to be a part of that group and go over there and see if I can contribute to that. At the end of the day you want to put yourself in the best position you can to win races and championships and I really felt like, starting next year, that was the place for me to do that."
atlanta leaves you wondering what’s next
I’ve decided to make a BOLD prediction about who will make it into the top 12 field of drivers for The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. It’s going to be.. Are you ready for this?? It’s going to be the twelve drivers in the top-12 in points right now! haha.
little alex almirola has arrived
The first child for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Aric Almirola, and his wife, Janice, was born yesterday. Aric tweeted little Alex Almirola’s birth announcement:

the biffles & harvicks meet the dog whisperer
On Saturday, you get to meet Lo, the cute little Chihuahua owned by Kevin and DeLana Harvick when they appear on “Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan” in the “Daytona Dogs” episode airing on the National Geographic channel (or Nat Geo if you want to be cool about it).
"I think throwing the helmet is reasonable if you’re mad. I tell you one thing I learned, I watched the video and I don’t want to be throwing helmets when the car is that close to me because if that helmet would have glanced back and hit him, that would have been bad. So I learned that my lesson from watching that is stand a little farther away when you throw the helmet, so if it bounces straight back at you, you’ve got a little bit of time. He would have looked real bad if it would have just bounced back and hit him in the face."
charging up with indycar in sonoma
My morning at the racetrack in Sonoma (formerly known as Infineon Raceway) started with a crack. Not the crack of dawn, but the butt crack of some photographer loading himself into the media shuttle van. That was a sight I really could have done without.
bristol brings the rumble
Bristol was super fun. Obviously my favorite part was Tony Stewart throwing his helmet at Matt Kenseth’s car. I mean, that’s just pure gold! NASCAR should create a new award to give out at the Championship awards banquet for the driver that provides the most entertainment outside of the race car, Tony would win for Saturday’s shenanigans alone. And Danica Patrick should of thrown her shoe at Regan Smith. It would have been poetic justice, sort of.
ryan hunter-reay & james hinchcliffe setup a date with each other
IndyCar drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay, who’s happily married to Beccy Gordon Hunter-Reay (Robby Gordon’s sister), and James Hinchcliffe spoke with the media at Sonoma today (the photo above is old, not from today, obviously). When asked about how they spent their recent time off the guys were very entertaining. Especially that Hinchcliffe, he’s a character.
"We've got three weeks. Chill out."
in advance of the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma
This weekend is the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. I’ll be there on Sunday and so will London 2012 Olympic gold medalists Tyler Clary and Erin Cafaro. Clary won the gold in the 200-meter backstroke and Cafaro was a part of the US Rowing Women’s 8-boat team. They’ll give the command to start engines with Sacramento mayor and former basketball star Kevin Johnson.
highlights of michigan
I love that Kid Rock couldn’t be bothered to put his drink down to give the command to start engines.
I didn’t love Mark Martin’s gnarly crash on pit road. That was crazy and scary. So glad it wasn’t worse.
Jeff Gordon got all huffy at Dale Earnhardt Jr. I found that to be cute.
And Greg Biffle won the race! I think that’s cool because Biffle is a nice dude.
"I’ll be honest, I wish everybody would get off her back and just let her go race and let her learn. Everybody is putting so much pressure on her and so much focus on her. Going to a place that you’ve been to is obviously going to help, but everybody needs to take a step back and let this girl learn and do what she is trying to do there. It’s kind of a double edge sword. It’s been great from the publicity side, but for her, I don’t know how she handles it. It’s making me nervous having to talk about her all the time, let alone, she is the one that has to actually do it. I just hope everybody respects her enough to give her the room to know that whether she makes three laps or whether she finishes the whole race the whole goal is to just learn."
Brad Keselowski Featured in New ESPN NASCAR Ad
Shouldn’t he be reacting to the pepper spray more?? I dunno.
daughter to father: you can’t take back what you’ve taken away
I’ve never written about my father in any complete & cohesive way. I don’t think I’ve even written about him in my diaries growing up, well, maybe a little bit but not really.
Anyway, I want to write about him now because I feel like I’ve made peace with our relationship or lack thereof. This isn’t a happy story and I’m writing it not just to document it for once and for all but for other people to understand and maybe learn something.
interview: inside the actor’s studio with scott speed
I’m so happy to share a new interview with you guys, it’s been awhile! I met with Scott Speed at the road course track in Sonoma (formerly Infineon Raceway) during the NASCAR race weekend back in June. He’s a fellow northern California native so it was especially good to meet him and get his fun answers to these questions.
racing ensues at watkins glen, oh, and marcos ambrose won
I think pretty much everyone in agreement that the finish to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Finger Lakes 355 at Watkins Glen International was crazy, right? I scrolled through my Twitter feed and all it showed were a series of tweets that said “Wow.”
the importance of choosing a great home
Where you live is very important. It’s always been a big deal to me for a few different reasons.
The first stems from my mom. My mom was a single parent raising two daughters and for her where we lived was a top priority because she wanted us to be safe above all else. While supporting three people on one salary is hard, my mom did everything she could to give us the best.
a pocono photo round-up
My ability to watch races this month is severely hampered. It’s a lack of access issue that I’m not going to get into, but know that when September rolls around I’ll be back up to speed. I’m moving into my new apartment then and I cannot wait! It’s going to be awesome. Anyway, Pocono was last weekend and Jeff Gordon won the rain-shortened race. Above you’ll find a photo gallery (if you don’t see it come to the website and view it there) of the weekend. There are some very good “artsy” shots included.
allmendinger took a pill because he was tired
AJ Allmendinger told ESPN’s Marty Smith that he tested positive for Adderall, a prescription drug for the treatment of ADHD. AJ doesn’t have ADHD, and apparently he told a friend he was tired and the friend gave him a pill that he said was a workout supplement. Right.
