So, I’ve decided that I want Liev Schreiber, the awesome writer/director/actor that did the voiceover for the 24/7 Jimmie Johnson: Race to Daytona series, to narrate my life. It’d be awesome, just imagine this: “Valli stopped by Starbucks for her usual — a Grande Cinnamon Dolce Latte — on her way to work, as she does everyday. The cordial staff has her drink ready by the time it’s her turn at the counter.” It’d be riveting stuff.

Did you see the second episode where Chad Knaus cooks dinner for himself? I think he was making pasta or something. Anyway, my eyes nearly bugged out of my head when I saw that he has a faucet over his STOVE! I need that kitchen. That was so cool.

I’m sad the series has come to an end. I wish they were with Jimmie, Chad and the rest of the 48 team for the rest of the season. It’d be fun. They could of videotaped Chandra giving birth! Missed opportunities, people.

:)

In other news…

– I’ve decided that David Reutimann looks like Dax Shepard’s long lost brother. Dax is an actor that got his “big break” by playing pranks on people in the first season of Ashton Kutcher’s series Punk’d. Now he does movies. What do you think??

– A Gillette 500 update! Team Denny Hamlin / Kasey Kahne are in second place. This is not good people, we need to be number one!!! So sign up and log your shaves. And if you’ve already signed up, continue to log your shaves! You gotta do it every day. By doing it EVERY DAY you increase your chances of winning a hometown visit by one of the guys! Shave your underarms, legs, whatever! Goooo Team Densey!!!

Also, since you’re here, check out Kasey and Denny in the “Book Club Crashers” commercial. It made me snort-laugh, which is saying something.
:)

There were a ton of great commercials making their debut during the Daytona 500 this year. I guess everybody is starting to spend money again, which I fully endorse. The Coca-Cola guys singing about buying the world a Coke was good, Kasey Kahne’s incredible pit stop for Budweiser was cute but the most AMAZING commercial was for Toyota’s new Sponsifier promotion that allows fans to create a car design for the Toyota driver of their choice. I laughed every time it played, even when I knew what they were going to say. It’s sooo funny.

Joey Logano’s expression is priceless, as is Kyle Busch coming to terms with his pink kittens/pony/baby seal car.

And then of course from the internets, I found the other commercial. The one below features Denny Hamlin and a super funny cameo by David Reutimann. Now I understand why they were all Twittering about loving love. :)

The pool of contenders for the best NASCAR commercial of 2009 was pretty small. There weren’t a lot that stood out as particularly funny and that’s why I only have 3 standouts. Perhaps another way the crap economy has affected the sport.

3.) Verizon V Cast Babies – This one is just cute all around. You think the guys are talking about actual cars but it turns out they’ve figured out how to supe up their baby daughter’s walkers.

2.) Tony Stewart School of Endorsements (Burger King) – The ad that launched Estrada Sunglasses! Very, very awesome and definitely the coolest commercial in the bunch. When people see my Estrada sunglasses they’re jealous, as they should be.
:)

1.) Gillette Young Guns – This commercial wins top honors for one reason and one reason only: Kyle Busch on the phone interrupting Clint Bowyer while he delivers his lines. So funny. It, inexplicably, tickles me every time.

Estrada Sunglasses (photo credit: The Fast and the Fabulous)Today I found a package on my porch that I was expecting with great anticipation. I was like a kid on Christmas morning ripping open a box that I knew contained Erik Estrada’s “Estrada” sunglasses. I have never been this excited about something that I can’t actually wear in a real, purposeful way.

So I’m sure you remember the Tony Stewart “School of Endorsements” commercials launched by Burger King earlier this year. In the very first one Tony attempts to teach Mr. Estrada and Carrot Top to only endorse things they believe in.

Estrada’s glasses were so memorable and just awesome. Why? I have absolutely no idea. Maybe it’s the way Erik says “Estrada” with an accent that I cannot replicate. I don’t know but it’s the coolest thing ever and now YOU can own your very own pair too!

You’ve got between now and tomorrow at 6pm EST/3pm PST to bid on 150 pairs of the Estrada glasses that Burger King has made available to the public. All of the proceeds from the eBay auction will go to Burger King Corp.’s HAVE IT YOUR WAY® Foundation.

So not only will you get to look like a rock star you’ll also do some good in the process. I must praise Burger King for listening to the people and seizing a huge opportunity. Good job!

…and now happy!

– Congratulations go out to Elliott Sadler and his wife Amanda. They announced today that they’re expecting their first child in March.

– I think this list of the top ten NASCAR questions submitted to Ask.com are pretty interesting. It’s fun to see what people are searching for as it relates to NASCAR. This is from the past week:

Tony Stewart, driver/owner at Stewart-Haas Racing, pictured in center in his BURGER KING fire suit, shares some laughs with actor, Erik Estrada (left) and comedian/actor, Carrot Top (right), during a break behind the scenes of Burger King Corp.s ad shoot, The Tony Stewart School of Endorsements.– And speaking of “Smoke” I’m sure by now you’ve seen Tony Stewart’s new Burger King commercials featuring “The Tony Stewart School of Endorsements.” Tony educates fellow celebs Erik Estrada and Carrot Top on the importance of only promoting things you believe in. I love the sunglasses Erik Estrada was trying to push that have his name emblazoned across the front. I really want them, they didn’t seem so bad!

Anywhoo, there will be more commercials, three to be exact; the final one will show Tony’s love for the WHOPPER® being tested by a polygraph machine. So get this, Tony is going to participate in a LIVE polygraph test on October 20th at www.truthabouttony.com. Starting September 28th you can submit and vote on questions to be asked of Tony during his lie detector test. Make ‘em good people! :)

Tony Stewart, driver/owner at Stewart-Haas Racing, climbs into the hot seat to prove his love for the famous WHOPPER® sandwich in the latest ad campaign for BURGER KING® restaurants. The ad titled, Polygraph Prep, is the last in a series of four ads that begin airing on Sept. 7, 2009. Visit www.bkracing.com for more information on Burger King Corp.s national promotion with Stewart-Haas Racing.

Also, go to bkracing.com for the chance to win a visit to Tony’s race shop.

Just in time for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona tomorrow the Coke Zero people are launching a new ad. It’s another hilarious commercial showing the Coca-Cola brand managers attempting to persuade the Coca-Cola drivers to do something really not well thought out, like, at all.

I love it.

The first part of this video is a behind-the-scenes, making of the commercial feature and then the actual finished commercial is shown at the end.

And for your viewing pleasure I give you the old Coke Zero ad that I love just as much. It never gets old! :) Enjoy the track for longer than the other drivers. Ha!
