So I just realized that I didn’t write about Phoenix. Whoops! Kevin Harvick totally dominated that race, but there are probably two reasons why I didn’t post anything.

I mean, A LOT of graphics! I think the theme of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season will be ‘Explanation.’ Everybody is going to be explaining how the new qualifying system will work and how the new Chase format will work, so get ready for a bunch of segments dissecting the new formats and whether or not Jimmie Johnson will be able to adapt to them.
This video, you guys. I am OBSESSED with this video. How awesome is Carl Edwards in this music video for Sara Evans’ song “Slow Me Down”??? I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! Hubba hubba.
And everybody has one. Especially about this whole Michael Waltrip Racing cheater McCheaterson thing.
The last laps of last night’s race at Richmond were chock full of WTF moments I’m not quite sure where to begin.
Yea, I don’t know. I’m just going with it.
Congratulations to Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil team on their win at Michigan this weekend.
When I got to the Cup garage at Sonoma Raceway on Saturday the inspections process was in full-swing for qualifying.
Kristen attempted to explain to me how NASCAR started using lasers this year at one of the inspection stations to measure the car. It’s kinda neat how it’s able to find the center of the car. It’s all completely computerized.
I finally have time to write things and tell you what I’ve been up to lately. As I said in my last post my day job took over my life in the past month because we were busy launching a major website redesign project for our client.
I haven’t posted anything in a really long time and I apologize. My day job has taken over my life to the point where I’m working weekends and not getting home until late during the week.
Because I honestly don’t remember a whole lot. Anyway, the image gallery is going to be the best part of this post, so enjoy!
Carl Edwards, who is sponsored by Subway, won the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway yesterday which is wraps up his 70-race losing streak nicely.
Jimmie Johnson won the Daytona 500 and in the distance I could hear the sound of the saddest trombone sighing “waaah, waaah, waaaaaaah.”
shocking news: nascar drivers don’t care about danica patrick’s relationship with ricky stenhouse jr.
Through some completely unscientific research I’ve done while reading interviews with NASCAR drivers during yesterday’s Media Day in Daytona, I’ve determined that nobody gives a flying fig about Danica Patrick dating Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and people should probably stop asking them about it.
All I can say about Jimmie Johnson winning yesterday at Martinsville is this: No. Just, nooooo.
We’ve seen this movie before and I don’t want to see it again. We’ve seen the 4 sequels, too. I’m over it and I want to see something new.
I think Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s comments after yesterday’s race at Talladega were right-on:
"I think throwing the helmet is reasonable if you’re mad. I tell you one thing I learned, I watched the video and I don’t want to be throwing helmets when the car is that close to me because if that helmet would have glanced back and hit him, that would have been bad. So I learned that my lesson from watching that is stand a little farther away when you throw the helmet, so if it bounces straight back at you, you’ve got a little bit of time. He would have looked real bad if it would have just bounced back and hit him in the face."
I think pretty much everyone in agreement that the finish to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Finger Lakes 355 at Watkins Glen International was crazy, right? I scrolled through my Twitter feed and all it showed were a series of tweets that said “Wow.”
I feel like I should send Carl Edwards a care package. Or at least a nice handwritten note that reads: “Buck up, kid! Everything happens for a reason.” Seems like the right thing to do since he hasn’t won a race this year and crap keeps happening to him.
First, let me apologize for my serious delay in writing about Sonoma. The Monday following the race I came down with a cold and subsequently felt like crap ever since and didn’t feel like doing anything at all except breathing.
So I didn’t watch the race live on Sunday. I watched it on Tivo on Monday. Figures that the one good race as of late is the one I didn’t get to watch as it happened. Still I got the gist, lots of pit road speeding penalties and Joey Logano put the moves on Mark Martin to get his first “real” win.
